Relocating? or Moving Across Town?

Some people would rather give birth than move. It might be a least favorite thing to do, but it doesn't have to be quite so painful. The key is to know where you're going, get organized and plan, plan, plan.

Do research. Find out where you are going, research the demographics, see what possibilities are for careers and education. The possibilities can be endless. The next decision is whether to move your own things or hire movers.

Once you've decided on the how, you then decide what and the how much. You need a good guestimate before you book the rental truck or before you invite moving companies into your home, and before you rent storage or buy packing supplies. Decide at the beginning of your planning stage what you will move and what will stay behind.

You've made your piles, now you get down to the fun of packing! Great! No matter how you feel about packing, it has to be done. Once you're packed and sorted, go over your checklists of what you need to do to make sure you're on track. An eight-week plan will help in scheduling tasks, and tracking to make sure everything gets done.

So, now that you've made your decisions, the hard part is over. Now you can sail on to a successful move.

Now, that really wasn't so bad, was it?
