I can't help but think back to watching Little House on the Prairie and picturing “Doc Baker” calling on  the community of Walnut Grove when I see the store-front sign for Star Pharmacy, located in quaint Star, Idaho. And how refreshing….with the craziness of today you can find a locally-owned pharmacy that boasts all the knowledge and expertise of a big city chain, but  offers the experience of service, care and familiarity synonymous with small-town living.

At Heron River, we are excited to see the town of Star grow, while keeping the charm of locally-owned businesses and services that make it unique. And even though Star is but minutes from Eagle and Boise, you really feel like you get the added benefit of what small town living is all about.

So while out in Star, drop by Star Pharmacy and say hello to Pharmacists Heather Wolcott, Teresa Cole and on occasion Holly Webster.   You can get a prescription filled, pick up an over-the-counter remedy or just browse their gift shop. It’s the support of local businesses like these that will continue to keep Star that little someplace special in Idaho.

Local Boise Sate nursing student, Tyson Summers, has been conducting radon testing in ten local homes around the Treasure Valley. In addition to this testing, he has created an informational blog w/downloadable brochure to inform the public on both the hazards of radon exposure, as well as detailed information on how to test your own home.

Please visit his blog at http://www.thehazardsofradon.blogspot.com/ for more information and to print the informative brochure.
